What Is Laser 180?

Laser 180 is a treatment that combines two modalities: the Pixel Erbium laser and Intense Pulsed Light therapy (IPL). The dual action provides smoother skin and reduced pigmentation for a youthful glow. The Pixel Erbium laser is a fractional skin-resurfacing laser treatment that addresses skin issues on the face, chest, neck, and hands. It removes these imperfections by emitting brief pulses of light into the skin. The light then converts into heat, which vaporizes microscopic sections of skin to reveal younger-looking layers. The IPL treatment encourages collagen production, giving the skin a smoother texture. It also addresses imperfections caused by sun damage and hormonal fluctuations, along with genetic vascular problems.

Am I a Good Candidate for Laser 180?

People who want to improve skin issues on their face, neck, chest, or hands can benefit from Laser 180. This includes people with mild to moderate acne scars, uneven pigmentation, wrinkles, fine lines, and other skin blemishes. Other candidates include those with age spots or sun damage. Laser 180 is not ideal for people with active acne, darker skin tones, sagging excess skin, deep wrinkles, sensitivity to light, severe scarring, or a history of keloid scarring. Patients who use a retinoid cream, have recently tanned their skin, or suffer from skin cancer are not good candidates for this treatment option.

Your Laser 180 Consultation

Before getting your Laser 180 treatment, you will need to arrange a consultation at Thrive Skin + Wellness. During this consultation, we will discuss your skin problems, any sensitivities, your current medications, and your skin type. If you decide to undergo this treatment, you will be given preparation instructions. You may be asked to stop taking certain medications or supplements and to avoid specific activities, such as waxing, tanning, or getting chemical peels. Make sure to follow these instructions closely.

What Is Laser 180 Like?

Like with a typical IPL treatment session, the patient’s eyes will be protected from the light, and a cooling ultrasound gel will be applied. The IPL handpiece’s tip will be placed on the target area, and light energy will be used to remove imperfections. The Pixel Erbium laser will also direct intense bursts of laser light into the target area in a grid-like pattern. This removes very tiny sections of tissue while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged to hasten the healing process. The procedure promotes collagen production, skin resurfacing, and improved wrinkles.

What Is Recovery Like?

After your Laser 180 treatment, you may experience swelling and redness of the skin for a few hours or days. Sun spots and freckles may grow dark before they become scabs and flake off. You may also feel itching or stinging for a few hours. You may notice your skin growing lighter after the treatment. Make sure to apply sunscreen and moisturizer during recovery. It is best to avoid using aggressive cleaners, exfoliants, or scrubs and to hold off on hair removal for two weeks.

How Much Does Laser 180 Cost?

The cost of Laser 180 differs based on the number of sessions you require. You will learn more about the price of the treatment during your personalized consultation.

Your Laser 180 will be performed at Thrive Skin + Wellness' surgery center located in Holly Springs, NC.
